

Family histories can provide an accurate picture of every day living in the life of an ancestor at a given time in the past for example an ancestor’s journal. As we personally keep an everyday journal we are helping to preserve our own family history.
One of the first things that an invading force will do in a country is to destroy the collective memory of a nation. This was done in Sarajevo, as forces came into the city the National Archives that holds the collective memory of its nation was under attack, many records were lost in this invasion. ( Without national records our government is not being held accountable to it’s people.) Records are important to preserve!
