This is a bit more than an introduction as I will try to present some background as to just what these databases are and how they can be used more effectively. I suspect everyone here has used these databases before so hopefully I will be able to give you some ‘value-added’ information. I don’t claim to be an expert – I was the just the guy who was willing to prepare this presentation. As I have frequently learned, there is always someone in the audience who knows more about the particular point I would like to raise, so lets treat this as a mutual learning session. Thus, come lets us grope together. These are the topics I would like to cover this afternoon. So now is the chance if anyone wants to move on to one of the other presentations.
